As a physician, psychiatrist and as a human being, I believe in health care for all, including mental health.
Psychiatric and mental health disorders affect every age, ranging from children to elders, both men and women, rich and poor, straight and gay. They do not spare anyone, regardless of caste, religion, ethnicity or nationality. These disorders do not discriminate and occur in people living in cities, small towns and villages. They include Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Dementia, Autism, Substance Abuse and Dependence, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anger issues and many others. These conditions take a toll not only on sufferers themselves but also on their families, caregivers and the community as a whole. Preventing, diagnosing, treating and managing these conditions is central to comprehensive health care.
My vision is to reach and educate the maximum number of people throughout the world in a way that people start to acknowledge these serious illnesses. People will then be able to identify those who need help and seek the appropriate treatment to restore them to living a healthy and satisfying life .
